Hello Internet!

June 12 is the Philippine Independence day, it is the day when Emilio Aguinaldo declared freedom from the Spanish colonizers. It is observed every year and is marked as an annual national holiday. Anyway, this isn't a history lesson so let's get to the topic.

Last June 12, my family and I went to Kamay ni Hesus Shrine in Lucban, Quezon. Kamay ni Hesus is known by the efforts of the healing priest Fr. Joey Faller and is home to a 50-foot statue of the ascending Christ.

It took us 4 hours to get to the venue. Thank God for GPS, we don't know where we'll end up without it. We went inside the chapel to pray first.

After praying. We lighted up family candles then went to the grotto. The grotto portrays the different stations of the cross which shows scenes from the Passion of Christ. It was really high but it feels nice upon reaching the top. The view was also nice and refreshing in a way. :)

Few moments after reaching the top, we descended the grotto and went to eat our baon in the van. after eating we went to the rosary hill where mysteries of the rosary and a big statue of Mother Mary are exhibited. Then, we explored other areas we haven't visited yet. And of course, we didn't leave Lucban without buying their local longganisa and pancit!

Before we went home. My mom had another destination in mind. We went to the municipality of Liliw in Laguna to buy shoes. My godmother was a local of the said place and the towns livelihood was mostly consisted of manufacturing shoes and slippers.

We parked at the church and explored the area first. We found vendors peddling duhat and crabs and different other goods at the street. There was a strip lined with shoe shops and a lot of people including tourists are actually shopping there.

We shopped for a few items and went home. I just slept on the way. HAHA. And that was it for this travel diary!

'Til the next adventure!
